Once upon a time, there was a little dog who wanted to sleep in a
basket. But what did he see? A basket that failed to meet his royal standards.
The fabric was too boring and the filling was not luxurious enough. His owner was
convinced it could be better and eventually found Lex&Max. Lex&Max
is a leading brand for dog and cat beds and cushions. Our
range includes beds so comfortable that you might almost want to lie in one yourself
and cushions so well filled that your pet sleeps like the prince or princess
on the pea. A variety of fabrics, colors, and sizes means there is something
for every royal pet.

The origins of Lex&Max

In 2005, Moni and Ed de Bever decided to take over a wholesaler of
home textiles. Shortly after the acquisition, they developed a complete
line of dog and cat cushions, which was introduced in 2006. After receiving so many enthusiastic
responses, they decided to turn it into a high-quality yet affordable brand.

A royal product calls for a royal name. The idea began with the name ‘Max’; at
the time, a popular name for dogs. To give it a
regal touch, they decided to reference our
royal couple, aLEXander & MAXima. This completed the Dutch royal feeling! And so,
in a nutshell, the Lex&Max brand was born.  

The future of Lex&Max

Despite its great success, the time had come for Moni and Ed
to enjoy their well-deserved retirement. Before long, in 2024, they found a party they could — thanks to its knowledge and experience — entrust their
innovative company to: Johnson Petfoods. An exciting but above all very enjoyable step for both
parties! With this acquisition, the future of Lex&Max has been secured. With a large, experienced, and enthusiastic
team, Johnson Petfoods is doing everything it can to continue the mission and vision of
Lex&Max.

And so they lived happily ever after.
