How do you wash a dog bed?

Does your dog love muddy adventures or splashing in the water? Then there’s a good chance their bed could use a wash regularly. Don’t worry: cleaning a Lex&Max dog bed is easier than you think. In this blog, we’ll explain step by step how best to do it.

Why is washing important?

A fresh sleeping place is not only pleasant for your dog, but also hygienic for your home. Washing the bed regularly prevents dirt, bacteria, and unpleasant odors from building up in the fabric.

How to wash the dog bed:

1. Turn the bed inside out so you can easily access all the zippers.
2. Unzip all the compartments and remove the fillings.
3. Close the largest zipper, fold the flaps inward, and place them in the sleeping area. Then zip this compartment closed as well.
4. Wash the cover at a maximum of 30°C. Preferably use a mild detergent without bleach.
5. You can place the cover in a laundry bag to provide extra protection for the fabric and zippers.
6. Allow the cover to air-dry—do not put it in the dryer!
7. Once the cover is completely dry, unzip everything again and first place the fillings in the edges.
8. Finally, insert the inner cushion for the sleeping area.
9. Fold the bed back into shape, and it’s ready to use again!
